My Rose Moon

from It's Fine by Beneath the Crow

/

lyrics

It has been a cold December
Not like the ones i used to know
So I'm sittin by the river so my family will not shiver
But there ain't much work to be had here with all the snow

And I hope things will be all right
But the body counts been risin and hell I'm next in line
And if things don't get better soon
I'll be down in Mississippi with my rose moon

The liquor only keeps ya warm until the bottle is gone
The cold has now claimed my wife's life and soon will take my sons
Now the fire is dead there's no more food and we cant buy any wood
But I would trade my life to save my wife and only begotten son

And I hope things will be alight
But the body counts been rising and hell I'm next in line
And if things don't get better soon
I'll be down in Mississippi with my rose moon

Now the sun will not shine
Down here in Saint Paul
It hasn't since September I would say
And men like me probably die alone
With a bottle in hand and eyes holding a liquor glaze

And I hope things will be alright
But the body counts been climbin and hell I'm next in line
And if things don't get better soon
I'll be down in Mississippi with my rose moon

about

Beneath the Crow Minnesota

A dirt broke band from the Twin Cities, just drivin along til we run out of gas. Once we stop, we may just rest. If not we'll drink ourselves to death.
